• 5Every pleasure enjoyed apart from God carries an expiration date stamped by heaven. The party in Babylon ends; the wedding feast of the Lamb never does.

Practical ways to apply this message to your life.

• Before your next decision — the job change, the purchase, the schedule adjustment — stop and ask: how will this affect my wife, my children, my church? If you can't answer that question, you haven't thought long enough. Selfish ambition hides behind the word 'practical.' Drag it into the light.
• If pornography has a foothold in your life, hear this plainly: you are participating in the spirit of Babylon. You are treating an image-bearer of God as a product for your consumption. The command is not 'manage it' — it is 'come out of her, my people.' Close the tab. Delete the app. Confess it to someone who loves you enough to hold you accountable.
• The next time you hear devastating news — a market crash, a layoff, a national tragedy — listen to your own first reaction. Is your instinct grief for the people affected, or panic over how it touches your comfort? Your gut response is a spiritual thermometer. Let it convict you before it calcifies.
• Practice the Philippians 2 test this week in the most ordinary setting you can find: the dinner table, the group chat, the staff meeting. Ask someone what they need before you announce what you want. It will feel unnatural. That's how you know it's working.
• Sit with the 'and then what' question honestly. Write down your five-year plan, your ten-year plan, your retirement dream — and then add one more line. What happens after all of it ends? If you cannot answer that with confidence and joy, do not leave this matter unsettled for another day.
