So examine your own heart: when is the last time you seriously considered the reality that you will stand before Jesus face to face? Put it on your calendar if you must — set aside ten minutes this week to sit in silence and let the weight of that future meeting press into your soul.
• The bride made herself ready through righteous deeds — not to earn the dress, but because the dress had already been granted. This week, let one specific act of obedience flow from gratitude, not guilt. Forgive someone. Confess something. Serve quietly. Let it be the fine linen you are putting on.
• John fell down before an angel — a good thing, a messenger of God — and was rebuked. Take inventory of the voices you elevate in your life: pastors, authors, podcasters, theologians. Are you following them to Jesus, or have they become destinations in themselves? If a holy angel says, 'I'm a servant just like you,' how much more should flesh and blood?
