0:10 Well, it's time for the word of God. Before we do that, if it's on your heart to give, couple of gentlemen here are going to pass along the plate. And while you're doing that, if you can multitask, meet me in the book of Hebrews in chapter 11, please. I wanna take the time to do one simple thing this morning. Just give you another reason to live your life to give God glory and to give him delight because that is one of the marks of a person who's truly been born again of the spirit.
0:55 There is a divinely infused desire to please God. Now in this world, there are many people who have conversations about God, debate about God, who argue against God, who might even express some form of spirituality. But only the person who has been born again of the Spirit of God desires to please God as the top priority in his life. And the scriptures give us many instructions of how we, though saved by grace through faith, can actually stir the heart of God to the degree where he has a smile over our lives. And one of the ways in which we can do that is offer him something as simple as our faith.
1:42 Our faith. Now when you hear that word automatically in our minds, we associate faith with the decision you made at one time to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ who died on the cross for your sins. And that is right. That is that's good. But faith has a much broader application than that.
2:01 Faith is not just a decision that you make at one time. Faith is a way of life. Faith is a frame of mind that you, by the Word of God, create in the soul that will determine your convictions and your decisions. And so faith is not a one time thing. Faith is something that you live with, you offer up, And in fact, it's something that you grow in.
2:27 Now we can go throughout the whole Bible and gather different pieces to try to find a definition of faith, but the scripture gives us a very basic fundamental understanding of what faith is. And it's found in verse one of chapter 11 of the book of Hebrews. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Sounds beautiful, but what does it mean? Faith is the assurance of things hoped for.
2:56 In simple terms, it means that a person who possesses faith has an unshakable concrete conviction and certainty of something that has been promised whether it's in the temporal or the eternal. Faith is inspired by hope. And our hope is not something that latches on to man made ideas. It's not imagination. Our hope clings to the promises made by God who never lies.
3:34 And so there's a certainty with our hope. We look to something though it may not materialize, though it is not a realization yet. Faith says, I believe that this will come to pass because I believe in the one who said it. And so there's a trust. There's a conviction that faith creates that calls you to be confident in the one in which you are trusting.
4:01 Faith is believing who God is and what he said. I know we want more profound thought, but the Bible is very simple. Your salvation is very simple. And we should not complicate it. But it's amazing, in chapter 11 of Hebrews, there is more given to demonstration of faith than definition of faith.
4:23 And so the Holy Spirit and his wisdom actually wants to show you what faith does more than finding a pretty definition of what faith is. And that's why you come to this chapter and you get example after example after example of how faith, true faith, through different people, men and women, has created certain results. And you can do a series on this chapter alone, but I want you to go to verse six quickly to show what faith does in relationship to God. And without faith, it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
5:08 We quote these things so quickly sometimes we don't realize how profound they are. If I were to go out into the street and ask a 100 random people whether they know God or not, what do you think is the one thing that God requires of you to please him? I wonder if faith would be the only thing that people would give an answer to. I'm sure people would give a 100 different answers to what God would require of them so that he would know the light from them. And yet this verse tells me that unless it is from the place of faith, it is impossible to please God.
5:45 Think about that. Impossible. There are no other options. There is nothing that you can do that will substitute the pleasure that God knows from your life, other than the thing called faith that you can give him. Why?
6:05 If you were a king, would you not require so many other things? What is it about faith that really pleases God? In fact, it so pleased him he has no other room for anything else that would substitute it. Because faith deals with his character. When you choose to believe God, you are telling to God and to a watching world that you actually affirm his character.
6:34 You trust in who he is. He is a trustworthy person. And so faith is something that relates to his reputation, his being, his person. It says something to him about him and it says something to the world about him, of what your heart testifies about his character. In fact, this is proven in the Old Testament.
6:56 Out of all the things that Israel did coming out of Egypt, they made a golden calf. They had crazy episodes of sexual immorality. All the things that they have done and the one thing that barred this generation out of the promised land was unbelief. Unbelief of all things. Not the golden calf.
7:19 Not Aaron messing up, not all the compromise. The one thing that God said enough is enough, you are not entering into the promises that I have for you, is when they said God can't bring us in. God can't overcome these challenges. God can't actually do this. We wanna go back.
7:40 Could you imagine? And here's the beautiful thing about faith, that again with this verse, we think this relates to salvation. And it's true. It's so true. You can't please God apart from trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
7:57 He's not gonna receive you unless you come to that point. You submit yourself, you repent, and you say faith alone, Christ alone, the cross alone. But that that text right here is not dealing with salvation. Again, faith is broader than that. It's not just a moment, it's a way of life.
8:16 And here's the connection. For whoever would draw near to God, here's the first thing, must believe that he exists. Must believe that he is. And not just some being, some deity, some way far into the universe. No.
8:33 That he is relational, that he is personal, that he is approachable. You must believe that. And then from that place of believing, faith as we know is not dead, it moves. Faith now causes you to seek him. And not just seek him, but seek him believing that he will actually tangibly, in a realistic way, actually reward you.
8:56 Intervene into your life and extend his hand of mercy and give you an answer as you seek him. You're saying this is Christianity one zero one. Why are we hearing this? Because there are many atheists in the church. And not atheists in the way you think concerning the media or those crazy kids on the college campus.
9:16 I'm talking about practical atheists. Christians who claim to believe God but routinely live as though he doesn't exist. There's a practical atheism that is plaguing the church today. And so we have to come back to the simplicity of this thing called faith. And again, we can unpack this in great detail but we don't have the time.
9:38 All I want to say is this, that you can have a faith in Christ, but all of us have a different level of faith from that place. And so we have to understand that there are degrees of faith and Jesus clearly illustrated that when he used this famous phrase that we are familiar with, oh you of little faith. Who did he say that to? The Pharisees? The prostitutes?
10:04 The beggars? The tax collectors? His own disciples. Mainly his own, the ones that had enough faith to follow him, but didn't have enough faith to believe him for certain things as they did follow him. I wanna tell you today that there are some who have different degrees of faith and we want to have as a as a church community, we don't wanna have bottom of the barrel faith, crumbs there saying, here God I'm gonna give you this.
10:31 We wanna be great in faith because to be great in faith is to greatly please our God. I wanna show you something in second Thessalonians one three to prove this point. Paul praises this church. He gives thanks to God for this church for two main reasons in this one verse. In second Thessalonians one verse three, we ought always to give thanks to God for you brothers as is right because your faith is growing abundantly.
11:01 And the love of every one of you for one another is increasing. Now we all know as Christians we need to grow in love for one another. Grow in greater sacrifice, greater patience, greater forgiveness, we get that. But how many of us have put an emphasis on growing in faith? How many of us have measured our faith over the years?
11:21 This word abundantly is the only Greek word used in the New Testament concerning growth and it's related to faith. It speaks of a increase beyond. It speaks of a great explosion. And that's what we want. Because again, faith brings many thing into reality but the main purpose is we wanna please him.
11:44 So these Thessalonians, they were pleasing God abundantly because their faith has grown abundantly. So here's the thing. You ready for this? If you've ever asked the Lord, Lord, I long to please you with my life, Believe that he will answer by demanding more faith from you. He will demand more trust from you.
12:05 He will put you in situations and circumstances in which faith is birthed and nurtured and matured. Proof? Look at the next verse. What does he say in relation to faith? Therefore, we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions that you are enduring.
12:27 Lord, I want to please you with my life. Give me your faith. And how is he gonna get your faith? He's gonna send persecution your way. He's gonna afflict you.
12:40 And in those moments where we are crying and complaining and murmuring is the very time that he is trying to get the thing that you desire to please him. To please him. It's encouraging to know that in the scriptures, although Jesus on different occasions says, oh you of little faith, or where he criticized the lack of faith from his Jewish brethren, There are two instances in the entire gospels where Jesus praises the faith of someone. Two separate occasions, two different people. And it's amazing because one of them is a man, one of them is a woman and we're gonna find out details about what it was about their faith as we desire great faith that Jesus could publicly acknowledge and commend them.
13:32 Again, follow the train of thought here. If I want to please God, if I really want to bring delight to him, then God is gonna demand faith from me. But what kind of faith? What is the quality of faith that makes it great so that I can greatly please him? And in Matthew chapter eight, Matthew chapter 15, we read of a Roman centurion and a Canaanite woman.
13:56 Both these individuals, God prays for their faith. And it would be good to know what it was about their faith that Jesus again was able to commend them. That observation alone, the fact that we're talking about a Roman centurion and a Canaanite woman already tells us the first insight of what great faith looks like. And I'm telling you, there are many details for the sake of time. We won't go into too much of it.
14:23 But I want you to think of this. The first point of great faith is that great faith is not the same as possessing great knowledge. In Matthew eight, Matthew 15, we are told of a Roman centurion and a Canaanite woman. What do they have in common though they have lifestyles that are far apart from one another? They were both Gentiles.
14:47 They were both Gentiles. They did not share in the privilege of the Jews, As you know, who knew the covenants, who knew the revelations, who had direct access to the house of God, these neighboring nations did not share in those glories. And yet, it is these two that Jesus could say what great faith you have. In fact, with the Roman centurion, I have not seen in all of Israel such faith. What does that tell me?
15:17 That tells me that, unfortunately, many have believed that the pursuit of knowledge and information and data and excavating spiritual truth is what will please God and that is not the case at all. Having greater knowledge in God is not what pleases him, it's what you do with that knowledge that he measures. That makes all the difference. And that should be a freeing thing for the person who says, I really wanna please God. It is not determined whether you are a scholar or a theologian or a pastor for that matter.
15:48 And this is where we differ with God because we we are prone to really be drawn to and to applaud those who have that ability to eloquently explain the scriptures and put pieces together who who show a wealth of information concerning spiritual data. And yet God is drawn to the one, not who has all of that, but with the little that they might have say, I long to apply this to my life. I wanna tell you something, that God is more drawn to the person who may be illiterate but obeys God than the person who might be a scholar and is sporadic in their faith. But we don't really see it the way God sees it. We're talking about pleasing God here.
16:35 And what's amazing about the Roman centurion is that he had limited knowledge about God. In Luke chapter seven verse three, which is a parallel account to the Roman centurion. You don't have to turn that but listen to this. Luke seven three, when the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews asking him to come and heal his servant. When he heard about Jesus, what did he hear?
17:03 I'm not sure. I'm sure it wasn't the book of Romans. I'm sure it wasn't this great discourse. It could have been as simple as there is this traveling teacher who operates with the power and wisdom of God, and no disease can resist his authority. And that alone, whatever he heard moved him to action.
17:30 Unfortunately, today, we hear about Jesus a lot and we do not respond the same way the centurion did. Unfortunately, there are many who hear about Jesus the way Herod heard about Jesus. And this is one of the frustrating things about churchianity. Go to Mark chapter six verse 20. I wanna show you how Herod heard about Jesus.
17:56 And this is a very sobering thing. In Mark six twenty, never forget it. Never forget it. Mark six twenty, for Herod feared John, we're talking about John the Baptist, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and he kept him safe. When he heard him, he was greatly perplexed and yet, he heard him gladly.
18:25 Herod, that wicked ruler, The man who was in adultery. The man who did vile things to Jews and to others. This man heard John gladly. You know what that means translation? He enjoyed listening to John's sermons.
18:45 He could sit there day after day and look at this fire breathing preacher from the wilderness, calling up people to repentance, calling people to get right for the first coming of the Messiah. And there was Herod with his hand on his chin with a grin being stimulated by this preaching. And I want to tell you today that being moved by sermons doesn't prove much. It doesn't at all. Actually very little.
19:15 There are people that can be moved by a message, that can even cry after hearing a message, and walk right out of this place, and go back to the debauchery and living for the devil. Being moved by sermons doesn't prove much. In fact, the same Herod who went to conferences, who liked that in your face preaching, that authority, that ability to cut your heart, that same Herod cut off his head. So what does it mean? What does it mean to come here and to say, you know, I think I think I am a Christian because I actually enjoy listening about messages concerning God and great insights.
19:52 That doesn't prove a thing. Enjoying listening about sermons and about God and about doctrine and theology doesn't mean a thing. But this centurion, he heard about Jesus and it moved into action. When Herod heard about Jesus, it it moved his brain. It moved his heart.
20:15 He collected more information. Maybe he just liked the experience of being confronted, though never changing. There are many people like that. It is dangerous. It is extremely dangerous.
20:28 But no, great faith great faith is seen here. But it also brings us to the next point that great faith, though it is not the same as possessing great knowledge, great faith draws the heart to a great Christ. Both this man and this woman that Jesus praised came to Jesus. Came to Jesus with their limited knowledge. And listen, this is not to say that we should not grow in knowledge, but what it does mean is that the more you grow in knowledge, it should be met with the appropriate application.
21:05 Being a sermon junkie doesn't satisfy God. In fact, the more we acquire truth and the less we apply, the more we grieve him. But we see here that great faith draws the heart to a great Christ. In Matthew eight, you can turn there if you'd like. In verse five, we read, when he had entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him appealing to him.
21:25 Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home suffering terribly. There are many things in life that stifle practical faith in Jesus. Many things. And one of those things is success, prestige, prosperity, all these things. We are told that the centurion came to Jesus.
21:48 This man supervised and managed at least a 100 soldiers. Certainly, he had resources. Certainly, he had networks. Certainly, he could even with intimidation get his way. And yet this man of status, this man who had a reputation even with the Jews because he helped build the temple, this man humbled himself.
22:12 His faith pulled him to Christ. We are told here that he appealed to Christ. There was a begging almost here. And guess what? He could care less what the fellow Roman soldiers thought of him.
22:25 He could care less what Caesar would do to him. Why? Because he knew that he was dependent upon this Christ. He had no power within himself. He was not self sufficient.
22:36 Could you imagine this big strong Roman soldier begging this Jewish traveling preacher that didn't even have a pillow in his name. And then we think about the woman in Matthew 15 and we don't have to turn there, but we are told that she came out of that region when Jesus was up there North of Israel. And she cried after him. She cried. We're talking about a strong cry as she could care less who saw her, what people thought about her.
23:09 Even the fact that there's this divide between Jew and Gentile, she cried to Jesus. Faith appeals. Faith cries. Faith prays. Faith prays.
23:22 And no matter how much you grow in life, if you're a person who grows in faith, you grow in your dependency on Christ. You know how to talk to him. You know how to bring all things before him. No matter what things you figured out, as the years have gone on, there's one thing you were still convinced of, I need him. I need him for all my things.
23:43 I need him. You know, there's a wonderful example of the opposite effect. What happens when faith shrinks. There's a man named King Asa in the Old Testament and this was a mighty man of prayer. This was a man who knew how to call upon God.
23:57 We're talking about a king who faced a million Ethiopian men ready to go to war with him and his nation. And in that chapter in second Chronicles 15, he cries out to God and God answers him. And I wish the story ended there. What a mighty man of faith. But the story of Asa is about a man who declined in his faith.
24:19 He went from someone who trusted God, who cried to God, who depended on God, and over the years, you see a different person, which happens to a lot of people by the way. And listen to this commentary about Asa. You don't have to turn there but listen. In second Chronicles sixteen twelve, in the thirty ninth year of his reign, Asa was diseased in his feet and his disease became severe. Yet even in his disease, he did not seek the Lord, but sought help from physicians.
24:53 Be careful with this verse. The bible is not condemning practical steps to our health. The bible praises and even commends to do things practically even with our bodies. This verse is not promoting that if you have faith, you don't go to doctors. It's not saying that.
25:11 It is showing what happened to a man who once believed God for everything, who could not even believe God for the things of his own health and body and well-being. We're seeing a decline here. This man could not even include God to leave him of pain. Never mind dealing with an army, his own physical affliction. What this verse is saying is that he barred God out.
25:34 He did not want God to be involved. He didn't have that reflex like he did when he stood before those Ethiopians. He had no involvement in mind concerning his faith and his body. How did he get here? How how did we go from a man who was praised for his faith to a man who had no more conversation with the Lord?
26:01 Who didn't know how to include God in all of his affairs? I'll tell you how. In second Chronicles fifteen nineteen, it says this, and there was no more war until the thirty fifth year of his reign. There was a long extended period of time where there was great peace and prosperity and promotion. And during that time, not only was his kingdom developed, but this sufficiency in self was strengthened.
26:36 He began to figure things out without prayer. He began to realize that he can actually get things done without prayer. And the story about Asa is this, because he actually does get things done without prayer. And we learn in chapter 16 that when another war breaks out, he makes allegiance with Syria. He makes allegiance with Syria to come against the northern tribes of Israel.
27:00 Whereas in chapter 15, when there was a million men, he cried out to God. And guess what? When he did that, when he partnered with the enemy, you know what happened? It worked. People get things done without prayer.
27:16 In fact, the reason why people don't pray among the many reasons is why would I waste my time seeking God when I can actually get things done? It worked. Live your life without prayer. You'll get things done. But here's the point, a prophet comes and he confronts Asa and he says, you have given up Syria.
27:37 What did what did he mean by that? If you had just sought God, I would not only have given you Israel, I would have also given you Syria. What's the idea? Yeah, you can get things done with prayer but you can get much more done with prayer. That's the point.
27:53 Great faith causes a man to have great trust and pulls your heart to a great Christ. This man did it. This woman did it. Unlike the Jews who were so skeptical, they did not hesitate with the limited knowledge to come to Christ. Which brings us to the final point, great faith acknowledges God's great power.
28:16 Look, there are many instances in the bible where people ask Jesus for a miracle. So up to this point, it doesn't seem like there's a distinctive other than the fact that they're gentiles. But what was it about the centurion especially that Jesus can say your faith supersedes all other demonstrations of faith that I've seen? There was something, there was something that he did, there was something that he demonstrated that moved the heart of Christ to marvel. You don't see Jesus marveling at much while he was on earth.
28:47 But Matthew eight verse nine and ten, we read it. But the centurion replied, Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word and my servant will be healed. For I too am a man under authority with soldiers under me and I say to one go and he goes, and to another come and he comes, and to my servant do this and he does it. And then look what Jesus says. Here's the commentary of his reaction.
29:22 Verse 10, when Jesus heard this, when he heard this, he marveled and said to those who follow them, truly I tell you with no one is Israel have I found such faith. When he heard this, what did he hear? What was it about that statement that moved the heart of Christ? Some say his humility. You're not you're not coming to my house.
29:44 There's just no way. You're too holy. I'm unworthy. That's part of it. But it was his outshining understanding of the absolute authority of Jesus Christ.
29:57 See many men have come to Jesus says, please come to me, come to my house or some have brought the person to Jesus and Christ still acknowledged that faith. He still worked with that. It was faith still. But this Centurion says, I don't need your physical presence. Listen, this gentile, this one who didn't have the scriptures at his disposal understood something about Christ up to this point.
30:20 All you need to do, though you are miles away, is say the word and disease will be canceled. All you need to do is just say it. And as your word travels from your mouth to the object that you are addressing, it will be done. What is this centurion doing? He's demonstrating something that no Jew has.
30:41 There is no one like you, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I I know your authority. I recognize it. I see it. I too am a man of authority and I know that all you have to do is declare it and it will be done.
30:56 It will be done. Listen, great faith that causes Christ to marvel is when you have this revelation throughout your life and all your affairs that there is nothing that can limit him. There's nothing that can limit him. Your heart is open. There is almost no ceiling in your belief unless it contradicts his character or unless it's an imagination that is not in line with his word.
31:24 There's nothing within you that says, you can't do this. And listen, none of us would admit it. Who would say that? Come on. But we feel certain hesitations in our heart when we pray especially.
31:39 We feel it. And it's almost like we create categories in our understanding of God. These are the things that God can deal with and these are things, not so much. It has to be really practical. And God does not dismiss practical, but we almost we almost feel like there are some things that even the word of God, the authority of God, may not be able to handle.
32:04 And that's proven with the doubts that shoot through our minds when we hear of somebody who is so lost that we can't even imagine them being transformed. We almost believe that they're just sealed in that condition and they're not gonna change, or circumstance, whatever it may be. We feel these walls rise up. But this man, he didn't see it that way. This man, all he needed was Christ to say the word.
32:28 Just say it. Now when you come to the cent the woman of of Canaan, she does something very similar. I love that story. I wish we could unpack it in greater detail. She comes to Jesus and she cries to Jesus.
32:41 You know what Jesus does? He ignores her. So Jesus ignores her. Why? Because he's getting the faith out of her.
32:49 So she goes to the disciples and the disciples are wringing their hands and they're pulling their hair. They said, Jesus, she's coming to us now. You gotta do something about this lady. I've not come for the lost sheep of Israel. She says, Lord help me.
33:05 It's not right to take the bread that belong to children, to give it to dogs. Now we know that Jesus is not calling her a dog, we're talking about a household pet and there's much debate about that word dogs. But you know what's amazing about this woman? She took no offense. She was so determined.
33:27 She saw past all of that. She was so determined to see her daughter delivered from demons that she answers so marvelously. She says, true, but even dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table. Now notice what she's saying there. One, she's acknowledging her lowliest state.
33:51 She didn't say, how dare you call me a dog? She goes, yeah. I come from a pagan background. I'm not amongst the race of Abraham. She doesn't even argue that.
34:03 She acknowledges her lowly estate just like the centurion. I'm not worthy for you to come into my house. Two, she acknowledges that Jesus is her master. Even the dogs eat the crumbs from their master's table. Let me be a dog.
34:22 I am still your servant. You are still my Lord. You are still my savior. And she says, all I need is a crumb. All I need is a crumb.
34:36 I'm not asking for the loaf. I'm not asking for the main dish. Listen to what she's saying. All I need is a crumb of your mercy and my daughter will be set free. That's a person who understands the authority of Jesus.
34:51 That's a person who has a grasp of the great power that he possesses. If you just let a crumb fall from heaven, you can do much in my life. That moves the heart of Christ. That belief, you know, we almost are offended by people who believe so much. And I'm not advocating crazy faith in the sense of believing things that contradict his character or that dismisses practical steps.
35:19 But what I am saying is, where is that faith to believe that God can do amazing things? You know what's amazing? We may not have doubt that he's able to do it but many people are afraid to have that kind of a faith because they don't wanna be disappointed. I don't wanna set myself up to be disappointed so why even give all this energy to giving God my request? But great faith is not determined by great answers.
35:48 Great faith is determined by the belief whether the answer comes or not. The message here is not which we can get to at one point how great faith produces great things. We're talking about a great faith that pleases God greatly. And so my goal is to please God and if in pleasing God, I make great requests because I believe in his great power, whether the answer comes or not, he's still pleased. See, I believe Christ would have been pleased with the centurion if this man says, I'm not worthy for you to come into my house.
36:21 And Christ says, I I see your faith. I marvel at your faith, but I have to come to your house. If he had answered differently, it wouldn't have changed the great faith that this man had. Do you see what I'm saying? I'm talking about the three Hebrew Israelite boys That when they were threatened by King Nebuchadnezzar to go into that furnace, they said, our God is able but even if he doesn't.
36:45 I'm not gonna bow down. So whether they burned or whether they were delivered, which they were, God would still have been pleased with their great faith. So believe God. Believe God with the trust that he can do it. But even if he doesn't know this for certain, he has been pleased with your faith.
37:09 And there are many things that we could say, how great faith intercedes for others, how great faith is tied to great humility, But today, you just got a crumb. And with that crumb, ask God to pull out of your heart greater faith. And if you really pray that prayer, don't be surprised when persecutions come, when afflictions come, when situations are created by his sovereignty that would demand the faith that would please his heart. Do you wanna know how you can ultimately please Christ? You in here who are not a Christian?
37:48 Give him your heart. This message doesn't apply to you if you have not made that first step of great faith, and that is to trust in the saving work of Jesus Christ. Throw yourself at his feet. Part of repentance is you giving up trying to do it on your own and saying, I can't save myself and I can't manage my own life. You alone are worthy.
38:13 I give you my trust. I give you my faith. Do you desire to please God? Surrender to Christ. Those who have surrendered to Christ, are you growing in your faith?
38:26 The more you hear messages, the more you read your word, do you believe God more? Or you believing him less? Are you becoming more skeptical? Or you becoming more concrete? Let's pray.
39:02 Heavenly father, we thank you for these baptisms today. We thank you for these declarations of faith. We ask, Lord, that from this moment on, our sisters would grow in faith. Lord, it is all of our desires this morning to please you, to please you with our lives. And you say that it is impossible to please me without faith.
39:30 Many people without doubt are going through things in their lives, Lord, that are demanding faith. May this message encourage them. That just like that Canaanite woman who did not receive an answer, Lord, it was only at the conclusion of the matter that you can say that you marveled at her faith. Great faith, surely you will bring us through great tests, great times of great silence. So help us believe that at the end of the road, you will receive great delight if we hold on fast in believing you.
40:05 Some people have been praying for years, Lord, and they're not getting any answer. Help them hold on. Lord, we ask that you would help us trust you, that this world would witness a people that really believe their God. Protect us from the attitude of Herod who heard about Christ gladly, but was a sinner still, but was bound for a hell still. Lord, in this time we worship you.
40:37 Thank you for reminding us of what pleases you in the end. We wanna give you our faith. Here is our trust, Lord, with our future, with our children, with our future spouses, with our business, with our ministries. We trust you. You are faithful, and you are worthy of us moving forward because whatever challenges lie ahead, just like the Canaanites did, present for the Israelites.
41:00 You will overcome them. We bless you now in Jesus' name. Amen.
